Weddings

I began studying wedding photography in 2005 with Monte Zucker, one of the most well-respected wedding photographers in the world before his death last year. As with all of my work, my "wedding style" focuses on telling the story of your day, but more important, telling the story of your relationship. Romance and emotion are the foundation of my wedding style. My photography emphasizes both classical artistry as well as capturing those wonderful spontaneous moments of emotion.

Wedding photography is different from all other forms of photography. In wedding photography, creating the images is only half the challenge. The other half is the ability to make things run smoothly regardless of any mishap.

How do I create great images while keeping everything on track?

It comes from getting to know the bride and groom and being completely prepared. I like to have dinner with the bride and groom after you book your wedding. It's important for me to take the time to get to know your needs so that I can take care of you on the big day. Several of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement shoot. In addition to getting a great image for your invitations, the engagement shoot is a great opportunity to get some practice working together. In the end, this experience will make the formals go quickly and smoothly, and you will be at the reception before you know it.

Every bride has heard stories about the photographer who ruined the wedding pictures due to some mishap. Unfortunatly, these things happen, but only with unprepared or incapable photographers. When I shoot weddings, I always have three cameras with me. I switch back-and-forth between two cameras during the wedding, and I carry a backup camera in my bag. At the first possible opportunity, I download all of your images onto my primary computer, make a copy onto a separate drive, and burn a copy to DVD, which is stored in a separate location. I call this triple redundancy, and this ensures that your images will be safe even in the event of equipment malfunctions, natural disasters, or theft.

All of my packages also include a formal bridal portrait which is typically done in either a traditional or high-fashion style. For many brides, this is the most cherished image that I create. Because this images is so important to many brides, some of my packages offer the option of doing a two-hour bridal portrait before the wedding day either on location or in the studio. Makeup, applied by a professional makeup artist, and flowers are provided at no additional charge.

If you've looked at many bridal albums, you will find that most of the time, the reception images take the back seat. Photographers know that the bridal portrait and the formals are the big reprint sellers so for them, the reception is the time to start relaxing. This is not true for us. We like to light the reception just like in the the movies and the results speak for themselves.

We would love to schedule an appointment with you to dicuss the big day. For more information on weddings, we invite you to visit the Wedding Portfolio. Also, you can find more information on our Pricing Page.
